Success Stories |
Here are some recent success stories we are particularly proud of. They are successful solutions to some of the hard (and not so hard) problems and challenges that our customers have presented to us.
They attest to our deep knowledge, experience, and competency in prepress, press, and post-press processes, not to mention color management. They attest also to our deep knowledge, experience, and competency in and with computers, in particular, Mac OS X, Linux, and Unix.
Newspan Media, in Houston, TX, was in the process of installing a new GOSS press to go with their new Alfa CTP device driven by the latest Fusion Workflow ESP workflow solution. Our service technicians installed the workflow onsite at the same time that the CTP device was being installed. With Workflow ESP installed, configured and up and running, plates were outputting in relatively short order.

The Sun Journal, a newspaper publisher in Lewiston, Maine, recently had Fusion Systems International automate their prepress department in order to prepare for their move to CTP. The publishing company prints its own daily newspaper (the Sun Journal), a Sunday section, as well as several weeklies, and a considerable amount of commercial work.

As part of a recent pressroom quality improvement program, in December 2006 The Tooele Transcript Bulletin (a PageCo member) in Tooele, Utah, upgraded their Fusion Systems' workflow to be CIP3 capable. With the Fusion Systems' CIP3 workflow, ink keying data is communicated to a LithoTel gateway, on the 40-inch 6-color press at The Bulletin. By starting jobs with the ink fountains tuned to the coverage of the job, the CIP3 workflow drives make-ready time and material usage down, while adding consistency between shifts and reruns. For more information about this improvement and about Fusion Systems' CIP3 and JDF workflows, please contact Fusion Systems International.
The decision to invest in new Fusion OS X RIPs with DigiPage and FTIFF workflow plug-ins to replace older, out-dated RIP technology has provided highly measurable returns. The workflow's built-in capabilities for direct file printing, job-name cleansing, advanced true-page numbering, automated file routing and sophisticated soft-proofing have dramatically reduced production time requirements and wasteful proofing materials usage.

[Not much time passed however before it] ... became painfully clear that an essential component was missing from the system. The need for post-RIP page-pairing and digital integrity in proofing became essential...

Wagner partnered with Fusion Systems International to design a smooth-driving digital workflow. Color Magic's objectives were clear... a workflow that supported three shifts and 24/7 operations.
