Portland, OR -- Fusion Systems International (http://www.FusionSystems.com), a leading independent developer of p repress RIPs and workflow solutions for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, today announced the 4.06a release of their popular prepress workflow automators, the DigiPage™ and FTIFF™ plugins for all Windows and Mac OS X-based Harlequin RIPs.
"The new features are based on customer feedback. Finer control over template-based file naming means more intelligent page pairing and imposition. Faster TIFF generation (twice as fast as the standard TIFF plugin that ships with the Harlequin RIP) means quicker time to press," said Richard Robinson, Operations Manager at Fusion Systems International.
The new features allow for even greater automation of prepress workflow setups, across multiple applications. Using open technologies and formats, they don't lock customers into one vendor.
As a result of integrating DigiPage and FTIFF open solutions into new or existing workflows, newspaper and publishing companies can reduce to nothing their ad rebates, no-charges and charge backs. "That's nothing new. What is new are the features that will push deadlines back even further," continued Robinson.
Adding the new features in this release to existing, powerful post-process scripting capabilities of DigiPage and FTIFF, as well as the Dot-Locked™ proof-what-you-plate-everytime-guaranteed! technology -- Fusion Systems International has met all the requirements for a powerful and highly automated, advanced prepress workflow.
DigiPage is a ROOM workflow plugin and FTIFF is a workflow accelerator plugin. They are ideal for any prepress environment running Harlequin RIPs on Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X. Because they have the same interface common to all Harlequin RIP users, they are easy to set up and to use.
DigiPage and FTIFF are not just for newspaper publishers. They are equally valuable for any commercial printer or in-house plant using Harlequin RIPs for Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X -- such as the Fusion RIP for Mac OS X. They also work seemlessly with Fusion's recently released, easy-to-use, Web-based prepress administrative tool, Print Production Manager.

In order to use the new Mac OS X and Windows plugins, users must have a same-platform Harlequin RIP. It is possible to evaluate the OS X plugin with an evaluation copy of Fusion's Mac OS X RIP, also available for download.
The 4.06a Linux release of DigiPage and FTIFF plugins is imminent. Fusion's Linux RIP is available for evaluation by download as well.
