The FireFTP Add-On for FireFox

This Tech-Tip assumes you are using the FireFox web browser. If so, and if you ever need to upload or download files or folders via ftp, you owe it to yourself to check out the FireFTP Add-On for FireFox. FireFTP is a simple utility that adds full ftp and sftp upload and download capabilities from right within the browser interface.

To install FireFTP, from the FireFox menu, go to Tools and choose Add-ons. This will open the “Add-ons” window for FireFox. Click on the “Get Add-ons” tab and type FireFTP in the search window.

Click the “Add to Firefox...” button, and then click the Install button in the next window.

Configuration is straight-forward - you just need the standard login information for any ftp connection.
