I-Trap is a software productivity option for the Harlequin RIP that provides users with very high quality "In-RIP" and "Interactive" Trapping!

The Lucid Dream development team has been building advanced trapping solutions since the late 80's and I-Trap is our best ever!  Released more than 4 years ago this proven solution is now available in two configurations:

I-Trap Auto, provides outstanding in-line automated trapping as files are processed through the RIP.   I-Trap provides outstanding automatic in-RIP trapping with advanced features like ink and zone trapping recognition.

Need Interactive Trapping?:  I-Trap Auto can always be upgraded to I-Trap Server for interactive trapping control.

I-Link Options:  I-Trap Auto includes two free I-Link tools, I-PDF and I-JPEG.  Information on these great tools and other I-Link options is provided below.

Interactive Trapping for OS X

I-Trap Full Server, which functions in client-server mode and allows unlimited

(FREE) clients to prepare files for final trapping by the licensed server station. The Server  runs on the Fusion OS X RIP and the Client software can be Mac or PC and remote clients can view jobs, do Ink Remapping, and handle all trap settings – which are then automatically applied at the server station.

I-Trap™ is a raster based trapping program because raster trapping provides the best flexibility and best quality. Raster trapping is the real workhorse of trapping because it can plow through any size and complexity of job.

I-Trap works by simply comparing colors. The key to the phenomenal ability of I-Trap™ is that it packs a tremendous amount of trapping intelligence into a very compact and efficient program to achieve tremendous speed. The Trapping Engine inside I-Trap™ is the engine that is extremely stable, reliable and fast.

The interaction of I-Trap™ is the result of years of involvement in the printing industry. The Lucid "Dream Team" developed the "workflow" of trapping with I-Trap™. We began by building I-Trap™ as a group of components rather than one massive application. These components are inserted into specific parts of any given workflow during the simple product installation. This integration is one of the keys to interactivity.

I-Trap™ then takes interaction to the next level by providing tools to give you control.

•I-Trap™ supports current page layout application controls for setting trapping parameters such as trap zones. Using existing tools such as plugins for Acrobat, Pagemaker and InDesign or extensions for Quark, I-Trap™ reads and understands these settings from within the Rip environment and is able to translate those settings into intelligent results within I-Trap™.

•I-Trap™ provides easy to use settings within the Rip to interact within your existing workflow. I-Trap™ is easy to configure as a part of your print queues to provide both interactive and automated processing options.

•I-Trap™ gives the ultimate in interactivity with the Interactive Viewer Application (IV). The Interactive Viewer, offers a complete new set of tools to handle even the toughest trapping jobs.

I-Link Productivity Options:

I-PDF - FREE

I-PDF is an optional No Charge plugin for I-Trap. This free pdf software gives the

benefit of using I-Trap in the conventional "in-rip" trapping mode - or to produce

trapped PDF files using the I-PDF plugin.

I-JPEG

The "Soft Proofing" plugin can produce an excellent quality soft proof file in either,

browser compatible RGB, or CMYK JPEG format – at any resolution! I-JPEG

effectively makes i-jpeg - a pdf to jpeg converter or a PS to jpeg converter.

I-PDFxM

I-PDFxM - this PDF Converter creates trapped pdf files."raster based" PDF/x format file that has lineart at high resolution and images at a lower resolution. I-PDFxM allows you to control the resolution of both the LW and CT layer. This gives much more reliability than vector PDF files.

I-TONE

The screening plugin for I-Trap, I-Tone outputs screened 1 bit TIFF files directly

from I-Trap. I-Tone uses configurable screening and currently ships with Agfa

Balanced, Agfa CristalRaster Screening and Hybrid Screening based on these.

When considering the screening options for your shop, it is important to think

ahead. I-Tone brings you the same ease of use as any current solution might offer,

but I-Tone also gives you the knowledge that as your company encounters new
